Privacy Policy
Your Workspace. Your Data.
100% Offline.
This document describes every permission DockMaster requests and exactly what it does — and doesn't do — with each. No legal jargon. Just the truth.
Zero Telemetry & No Internet Required
DockMaster operates entirely locally on your Mac. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter that phones home, and no usage tracking of any kind.
The application is designed to function perfectly with your network connection disabled. There is no license server ping, no 'call home' on launch, and no background network activity — ever. You can verify this at any time with a network monitor like Little Snitch.
We believe your workflow patterns, which apps you use, how long you dwell on windows, and what you search for in your switcher are deeply personal data. We simply don't want it.
Screen Recording Permission
DockMaster requests Screen Recording permission for one purpose only: to generate live window preview thumbnails for the Hover & Peek feature.
This is powered entirely by Apple's secure ScreenCaptureKit framework, which means the OS itself mediates what pixels we can see. We capture individual window frames purely in-memory to render the preview card — no frames are ever written to disk, cached to a temp file, or transmitted over any network connection.
The moment you hover away, the captured frame is immediately released from memory. If you revoke this permission, Hover & Peek gracefully degrades to showing app icons instead.
Accessibility Permission
The Accessibility permission (via AXUIElement APIs) is used exclusively for two features: detecting when your cursor hovers over Dock icons, and performing precise window snapping and resizing.
We do not use this permission to read the content of other applications, intercept your keystrokes globally, monitor your UI interactions in third-party apps, or scrape any personal data from the accessibility tree.
This permission is specifically scoped to listening for cursor position relative to the Dock and issuing window frame-change commands on windows you have explicitly targeted.
Clipboard & File Shelf Data
All clipboard history entries — text, links, code snippets, and images — are stored in a local SQLite database inside your Mac's App Caches directory (~/Library/Caches/DockMaster/). This folder is automatically included in Time Machine backups but is never synced to iCloud or any third-party cloud by default.
For images copied to the clipboard, DockMaster applies intelligent downsampling (using CoreImage) before storage to prevent memory exhaustion. The original resolution image is never permanently saved — only a preview thumbnail at a configurable resolution (default: 1200px max dimension).
Files dragged into the Smart File Shelf are referenced by their original filesystem path, not duplicated. No data is copied to our servers. You can clear your entire clipboard history and shelf with a single click from the Settings panel.
OmniSync (Cross-Device Clipboard)
OmniSync is an optional Pro feature that synchronizes clipboard history across your Apple devices via iCloud Drive. When enabled, copied text, links, and small images are encrypted by iCloud and transmitted through Apple's infrastructure — not through any server we own or operate.
Sensitive items such as passwords and one-time codes (detected via Apple's AutoFill metadata) are excluded from sync by default. Large files are also excluded to avoid excessive iCloud storage usage.
You can disable OmniSync at any time from Settings → OmniSync → Turn Off. When disabled, no clipboard data leaves your device. Synced data stored in iCloud follows Apple's iCloud data retention policies.
Payment Processing
All Pro license purchases are processed by third-party payment providers (such as Stripe or Paddle). We never see, store, or have access to your full credit card number, CVV, or billing address.
The only purchase-related data we retain is your email address (for license delivery and support), your license key, and the order reference number. This data is stored securely and is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Contact Form & Email
When you submit a message through our website's Contact form, we collect your name, email address, message content, and the message category you selected. This information is sent directly to our support email (Dockmasterpro@gmail.com) via encrypted SMTP.
We use this data solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list, newsletter, or marketing campaign. Your contact information is not shared with third parties.
Website Cookies & Tracking
The DockMaster website (getdockmaster.com) does not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics.
The website may use essential cookies required for basic functionality (e.g., language preference). These cookies do not track your behavior across other websites and contain no personally identifiable information.
Children's Privacy
DockMaster is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our Contact form, please email us at Dockmasterpro@gmail.com and we will promptly delete it.
Data Retention & Deletion
On-device data: Clipboard history and shelf data remain on your Mac until you manually clear them from Settings, or until DockMaster is uninstalled. No residual data remains after a clean uninstall (delete the app from Applications and optionally remove ~/Library/Caches/DockMaster/).
Support correspondence: Emails sent to our support address are retained for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, then archived. You may request deletion of your support history at any time by emailing Dockmasterpro@gmail.com.
License data: Your email and license key are retained for the lifetime of your license to enable reactivation and support. You may request deletion by contacting us, which will also revoke your license.
